Mr Jon Wand


Jon treats a whole range of shoulder and elbow injuries and conditions, including fractures, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder impingement, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, tendon injuries, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, joint pain, shoulder and elbow instability and dislocation.

Career and experience:

Jon has more than 20 years’ experience helping people with injuries and conditions of the shoulder and elbow. He uses the latest proven techniques to provide personalised care plans, and has a particular interest in minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures. Jon qualified in medicine in 1977 and undertook his post-graduate surgical training in London and Ipswich before specialising in orthopaedics. He has worked in a number of hospitals including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, The Westminster Hospital, University College Hospital and Great Ormond Street. In 1991 he became an accredited specialist in orthopaedic surgery and was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Cheltenham General Hospital. During this time, he developed an interest in shoulder and elbow surgery. Today, he holds the post of Shoulder and Elbow Lead Consultant for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust, alongside his private practice at Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital.
